Fiber
Optic Isolation
Many applications require the transmission of signals across barriers
of high-voltage or high-noise isolation. These barriers preclude
the use of conducting wires. We have developed a suite of modules
which faithfully reproduce analog and digital signals across these
barriers in a plug-and-play fashion.
*** Wishlist - We have a design on the back-burner for very high speed Analog+Digital Isolated Link using FPGA controls. Are you interested? Call to discuss today! *** ______________________________________________________________________________________________

SignalSquirt full-duplex F/O isolated analog (6 analog + 12 digital each way, hi-speed) The SignalSquirt is a general
purpose redesign of the ASQUIRT and DSQUIRT units designed for the MIT
fusion labs. The specific I/O configurations needed for MIT have
been replaced by higher speed, greater channel count, and lower price!
The SignalSquirt faithfully reproduces two, four, or six analog channels at 9-16 bit resolution (0-5V range) in each direction, along with twelve digital signals (TTL levels) in each direction. Analog signals refresh at 4-18 kHz (depending on # channels active and resolution setting.) Digital signals refresh at 12-18 kHz with analog signals active, or 30 kHz if analog transmission disabled. Two additional digital outputs show the status of the link at each end. User configurability of selectable addressing, which analog channels are in use, and required analog precision are settable over USB configuration port (no jumpers or dip switches). Breakout board & ribbon cable available separately, contact Rockfield Research for price & availability. |

ASQUIRT01
full-duplex F/O isolated analog (2 channels, 12 bit, 10 kHz) The ASQUIRT01 faithfully
reproduces two analog channels in each
direction across noise or voltage barriers over fiber. Checksums and ID
codes maintain the integrity of the
signals, and DIP switch selectable addressing ensures that multi-unit
installations cannot operate on the wrong fiber.
(Default configuration as developed for MIT fusion labs: 2-pin LEMO connectors, 0-10V range, 4 parallel F/O outputs.) Comes with AC adaptor, does not include fibers or mating connectors. (You need two units for a communications link.) |

ASQUIRT02
full-duplex F/O isolated analog (16 channels, 12 bit, 1 kHz) The ASQUIRT02 faithfully
reproduces sixteen analog channels in each
direction across noise or voltage barriers over fiber. Checksums and ID
codes maintain the integrity of the
signals, and DIP switch selectable addressing ensures that multi-unit
installations cannot operate on the wrong fiber.
(Default configuration as developed for MIT fusion labs: D-sub 44pin connectors, 0-20mA range inputs, 0-10V range outputs.) Comes with AC adaptor, does not include fibers or mating connectors. (You need two units for a communications link.) |

DSQUIRT02
full-duplex F/O isolated digital transceivers (32 channels, 5 kHz) The DSQUIRT02 family faithfully reproduces 32 digital channels (16 each way, 32 tx, or 32 rx) across noise or voltage barriers with no galvanic connection in between. Checksums and ID codes maintain the integrity of the signals, and DIP switch selectable addressing ensures that multi-unit installations cannot operate on the wrong fiber. I/O levels compatible with Allen Bradley PLC I/O, other configurations possible. Each channel is updated at 5 kHz, although the response time is somewhat slower due to 150 microsecond input filtering. (Default configuration as developed for MIT fusion labs: D-sub 44pin connectors, I/O levels compatible with Allen Bradley PLC I/O, with pinouts and signal levels matching #1771-IBN and #1771-OBN modules - 10-30V, active hi, opto-isolated, with each block of eight channels sharing isolated common/power. Each output block of eight channels is internally fused. Additional witness F/O output for debug monitoring and fuse status monitoring.) Comes with AC adaptor, does not include fibers or mating connectors. To
make a communications link, you need two DSQUIRT02-IO units (for 16
channels each way),
or one DSQUIRT02-II and one DSQUIRT02-OO (for 32 channels one-way). download the DSQUIRT02 manual here Call for more information or to order. |
